BREAKING NEWS: A new team on the platform!

It has come to the attention of RGT Pressroom that a new team is in the making. Sponsordeal is arranged, and several riders have already been signed. The team sheet is so far

 - Nate Fulcher

 - Jurgen Janssens

 - Henrik Mård

 - Jez Read

 - Kenneth Vansina

Regular readers will be familiar with a few of these names, in particular Kenneth Vansina who just came out of the Tour de Monde with 4th place. Furthermore, Jurgen Janssens finished 8th and Nate Fulcher 30th. Nate Fulcher is however a heavier rider and should be judged on his performances on the flatter terrain where he just this weekend secured an impressive win over Rasio Racings Joris Schepers in the OTR Spanish for Improvers race.

Watch Fulcher's impressive timed sprint at 50:11

Swedish Henrik Mård did 11 out of 12 stages in the TdM, in a time of 12:21:52, which would have put him at 16th -17th in the overall GC, if he had completed the first stage at a reasonable pace. Mård is yet to have his first win in RGT but several top 10 in different crit series, speak their own language. Jez Read did also only miss one stage and had a finish time of 12:23:39 in the TdM. His Palmares includes several high placings in the popular mountain goats series.

The budget has room for one more rider, and with the roster, as it is now, this team could be a major player, in the spring. Both in the crit series, with Fulcher as their asset, and in the mountains, where several of the riders are hard to compete with. We have reached out to the team, and hope to get comments on the news soon!

Rasio Racing - A force to be reckoned with

Imagine this. After the usual start, where everyone sprints out the pen, you've made the front group. The pace is high, but you are confident in the draft. Within limits now. You start to notice who else is in the group. And when you start looking around, not one, not two, but five or six riders are in black jerseys with orange helmets. And you realize you've ended up in a group where half the riders are in the same team. Not only that, they are coordinated, they attack in turns, and try to play to each other's strength. This scenario is becoming more and more frequent on RGT and is the reason why Rasio Racing is so difficult to compete against.  All of the team members are capable of winning a race, none of them are afraid to work for each other. Together they are harder to beat, than most individual riders on RGT. With the addition of Andrzej Krajewski, who ended third in the Tour de Monde, the team also has a top, top climber, and seems like the Team Ineos of the RGT pla...

Wingman Cup Pre Race

A new format on RGT is unfolding tomorrow evening, as the first stage of the Wingman Cup takes place.  The competition is spread out over two time slots, GMT and EST, to include a larger group of riders. The format is simple but intriguing. Teams of two riders are battling out to get the best overall time. Only the time of the fastest rider will count towards the GC, which will put a lot of emphasis on the strategy. Should you work for your sprinter? Try to establish a breakaway? Or just wait and see what the other teams do, with the risk of losing out on the winning move. The Wingman Cup EST edition has a lot of strong riders sign up. With his win on the last Watts Up Crit Series, Connor Willson and his teammate are surely the favorites with their team Lakeshore Cycling Club. Benoît Dufour, finishing second, and Maxime Turcotte, finishing third, will team up as Happy Enders to fight for the overall win. This series will bring to the platform some new riders coming from Team Siboir...

A few words from Lister, Ogilvie and Dawlatly

Almost three weeks have passed, since the last mighty climb up the Galibier. People are back to their normal riding routines, which for most parts, does not include 5 all-out efforts a week. It was tough, but now it is time, to sum up, and look forward to a new season. Tour de Monde was a great way to start the year and a fantastic success in almost all aspects. RGT pressroom has met up with the three guys behind the scenes, Mike Lister, Samir Dawlatly, and James Ogilvie to a chat on how they saw the tour, and what to expect from future events.  First of all, congrats on a well-run event. How did it go, from an organizer's point of view?   SD: I think it went well. I don't think we really set ourselves any objectives before we set out so it's difficult to measure success objectively. But there are lots of things I think we can be proud of For example, the number of riders who did at least one stage, the number of riders doing all stages. Introducing the concept of racing ...
